About Salem

Educators across Salem have been hard at work strengthening literacy instruction and the impact is clear. Foundational skills routines are evident in many classrooms, and high-quality materials are being used across grade levels, including in Pre-K and dual language settings.

This year’s writing focus is making a difference, with students producing written work from the earliest grades through elementary school.

Pre-K classrooms are engaging students in purposeful centers, and student discourse is increasing thanks to intentional planning. School-based literacy coaches are playing a key role in driving this important work forward.
