About Nashoba Regional
Nashoba Regional School District’s (NRSD) Strategic Action Plan has identified Strategic Objective 3: Ensure equitable opportunities and outcomes for all through increased awareness, representation, practices, and communication around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Strategic initiatives in support of this include development of an instructional coaching model and PLCs, conducting an equity audit and deepening and strengthening practices in culturally responsive teaching. The development of the instructional coaching model and PLCs in the elementary school has created a systemic structure to enable grade level teams to monitor student early literacy learning and growth.
Nashoba Regional School District has worked hard to provide equitable resources to each of its elementary schools. Each school has a team of reading specialists. Florence Sawyer and the Center School have two reading specialists; Mary Rowlandson Elementary School has three reading specialists (and one of these roles is supported by Title 1 funding). The reading specialists primarily provide Tier 3 interventions. Each school has an instructional coach for literacy who supports K-8 literacy in their respective town.
